EXCLUSIVE: Dance world, the starring and executive unscripted contest series produced by Jennifer Lopez, is coming to an end.
NBC has no plans to bring the series back for a fifth season. Season 4, which consisted of 12 episodes, aired between May and August 2020.
Dance world was notable for its absence from the network’s summer programming plans after NBC revealed premiere dates for shows such as Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman Do that, which travels through June for its third season, and the return of American ninja warrior and America has talent end of May / beginning of June.
The show had been a good performance for NBC in its first three seasons, but the fourth season had ebbs and flows in the numbers. The format, which is owned by Universal Television Alternative Studio, has also been remade in a number of territories around the world, including Thailand, Philippines and Poland.
