I think you wouldn’t choose a rich and withdrawn billionaire as a generous lover.
If you are a fan of the very adult comedy, Harley Quinn, you know the show loves pushing boundaries and buttons when it comes to DC heroes and villains. It’s a hilarious show available on HBO Max that has a lot to laugh about. And so is the gender.
But one sex scene with a character was torn up by DC Comics.
Yesterday the news broke in as an interview diversity with co-creators and executive producers Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker went viral. In the interview, it was revealed that there is a plot that is not expected from DC heroes.
Halpern said: “… this third season of Harley [when] We had a moment when Batman went against Catwoman … And DC said, ‘You can’t do that. You absolutely cannot. ‘ They say, ‘Heroes don’t do that.’ ”
My goodness! I mean, Batman isn’t exactly the most emotionally educated person out there, but after all these years of seclusion, you might think he wants to make someone happy.
Halpern continued, “So we said, ‘Are you saying that heroes are just selfish lovers?’ They said, ‘No, we sell consumer toys for heroes. It’s hard to sell a toy when Batman is attacking someone too.’ ”
This, of course, resulted in Twitter breaking down in the best possible way yesterday. Everyone seemed to have an opinion and wanted to get into the joke. Kevin Smith was reminding everyone that Oliver Queen had no problem pleasing the ladies, and even DC Animated joined in the joke. It was really a fun afternoon on social media.
On some of my favorite tweets, people picked which Batman would go down and which would not. The only consensus seemed to be that Adam West could get it.
I understand you’re protecting your brand, but to say that heroes don’t bring joy to women is backward and repressive.
Harley Quinn has been extended for a third season and I’m sure it will bring us more funny and hilarious headlines. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments.
