One of the powerful couples in Bollywood is Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli. The two dated for almost 3 years before they tied the knot in 2017. Their romance is nothing short of a Bollywood romantic comedy. On her 33rd birthday, we reveal how she met her cricketer husband.

Anushka is undoubtedly one of the leading women in the industry today. She made her Bollywood debut with the 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Since then, she has proven her caliber with various roles in films such as NH10, Pari and Sui Dhaaga.

It was in 2013, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli first met on the sets of a shampoo commercial. As soon as the ad aired, rumors circulated that there was a secret behind their onscreen chemistry. However, later Anushka opened up about her meeting with Virat during an interview with Filmfare magazine.

Anushka Sharma said, “If you ask me, has Virat come to my house? Yes. Is this my friend? Yes. Do I know him? Yes. But there are other details that people don’t know. We made an announcement together. I put on an arrogant brow because he is also thought to be arrogant. Before he acted hard, I wanted to have the upper hand. But when I met him he was so easy going, smart and funny. Considering it was a three day shoot and the second night I called my friends over for dinner to celebrate my new home, I invited him as well. This is where it started. There were other people too, but they didn’t make the headlines, ”she said.

Even after nine years of running the ad, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are making headlines as a married couple and new parents. The two recently became proud parents of their daughter Vamika.
