“We searched for composers, musicians and artists across the country and curated songs and sounds” – Raj and DK on The Family Man 2 soundtrack: Bollywood News

The new season of The family man has seen an unprecedented response from the public, since it launched on Amazon Prime Video on June 4. Besides its intense performances, gripping storyline and flawless direction, audiences can’t seem to get enough of the incredible soundtrack, which successfully mixes genres and brings together talented composers like Fiddlecraft, Mahesh Shankar, Bindhumalini, Brodha. V, Swarathma, R. Rajesh, Harpreet and Bharat Sankar.

Creators Raj & DK believe that for a spy thriller like The family man, music plays a vital role in providing viewers with a healthy entertainment experience. Creators Raj & DK said, “When it comes to OTT series, the possibility of experiencing music is much greater than that of movies. The commercial nature takes a back seat with series and we can have a lot more songs and explore different genres as well, compared to movies. We are both indie and classical music fans and for this album we researched composers, musicians and artists across the country and selected songs and sounds that we thought would fit well into the story. We have a mix of existing and original numbers and we think it worked out tremendously for the show because audiences loved the soundtrack.

There is the popular track “Beta Pehn sweatero ”by folk-rock group Swarathma, a whimsical song that fits perfectly into the series. Amazon Prime Video has just released the video clip for the Family Man version starring Srikant Tiwari, Suchi and the kids which you can check out here.

The music album also features three terrific tracks from Pune-based indie band Fiddlecraft (Gaurav Kadu and Sudeep Shetty) – “Toofan”, A high octane rap song and “Chal Ghar Wapas Chale” and “Andherey”Which fits the scenario perfectly. Longtime collaborator with Raj & DK, Mahesh Shankar created two tracks for the series, “Maya“a unique electro-classical fusion song he composed with famous classical singer, Padma Shree Awardee, Vidushi Sumitra Guha and Sheetal Nidimoru, and”Aaha Boomi “an energetic number performed by Harihara Sudan, Ramesh Chellamani and Sahitya Srinivasan. One of the most popular tracks in the series, the theme song” Dega Jaan “by Sachin-Jigar and performed by Mellow D and Shreya Ghoshal really captures the essence of the new season with its special Tamil remix by R. Rajesh.

The new season also has a nice set of Tamil numbers like “Unnara Vaithai”A moving song by National Film Award winner Bindhumalini with Grammy winner and internationally acclaimed lap steel guitarist Prakash Sontakke. The soundtrack also includes “Kanda Kumara “ a soothing melody by Padma Shri Awardee Dr Shobha Raju.

Add to that we can also enjoy the hit English rap song ‘Vainko ‘ by Bengaluru hip-hop artist Brodha V as well as the feel-good ‘Kho Gaye Hain Wo ‘ by musician Harpreet.

A special mention for Ketan Sodha who composed the background music for both seasons. He did a fabulous job creating striking background music that contrasts with the story and emotions throughout the series, creating an engaging experience for audiences.
