The 93rd Academy Awards will close a wild and unprecedented cinema awards season on Sunday with its live-action ceremony honoring the best film of the year starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on ABC. It will be the cap of the year which, due to the pandemic, lasted 441 days between the 2020 Oscars and Sunday’s show.

The Oscars will air for free on local ABC stations, and you can also watch them through authentication on ABC.com and the ABC app. You can also watch on streaming services like Hulu Live TV, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV, and FuboTV, most of which offer free trials. As for ABC’s coverage of the Oscars, which will take place this year at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles and the Dolby Theater in Hollywood & Highland, things are kicking off with Oscars countdown, live! 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. PT hosted by Chris Connelly and Janai Norman of ABC. ABC News Live follows with a 2-hour special from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET.

Local ABC stations (in 86 U.S. markets) will feature On the red carpet at the Oscars kicks off at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on OnTheRedCarpet.com. E! will also feature fashionable blanket throughout the day.

At 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT is the official pre-show, Oscars: in the spotlight, where for the first time, all five Oscar nominees for the original song will be sung in their entirety on Oscar night – by Celeste and Daniel Pemberton, HER, Leslie Odom, Jr., and Laura Pausini and Diane Warren recorded this week at the Dolby Family Terrasse at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles and Molly Sandén from Húsavík, Iceland. Ariana DeBose and Lil Rel Howery are hosting the pre-show.

The main event, the 93rd Academy Awards, produced by Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher and Steven Soderbergh, will host the Union Station main show and what the producers have said will be the “cast” of presenters which include nominees Viola Davis, Steven Yuen and Riz Ahmed with Angela Bassett, Halle Berry, Bong Joon Ho, Don Cheadle, Bryan Cranston, Laura Dern, Harrison Ford, Regina King, Marlee Matlin, Rita Moreno, Joaquin Phoenix, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Renée Zellweger and Zendaya.

They will preside over the awarding of 23 Oscars which will culminate with the announcement of the film of the year. This year’s nominees include Searchlight favorite Nomadland; with Sony Classics The father; Warner Bros’ Judas and the Black Messiah; Netflix Mank, who has the most nominations of all films with 10 and The Chicago 7 trial; A24 Minari, Focus Features’ Promising young woman and Amazon Studios’ Sound of metal.

An ABC post-show, Oscars: After Dark, will air immediately following the ceremony and is hosted by Colman Domingo and Andrew Rannells and will include interviews with film critic Elvis Mitchell.
