Was Vijay Deverakonda’s Bollywood debut with Liger a planned move? This is what the actor has to say
Popular Tollywood actor Vijay Deverakonda, who wowed audiences with his performances in Arjun Reddy and Geetha Govindam, is making his Bollywood debut with the pan-Indian film Liger. While the film is due to hit screens on September 9, the lead actor has said it is not his intention to enter Bollywood with Liger as he told The Times: “I am not not someone who works on plans. As soon as I heard the script, the story, I wanted it to be part of it. And it made sense to make a pan-Indian film because it was a story that I think the country will enjoy watching. I felt ready for it, so we made it bigger. Everyone was on board and we organized it that way. But it was not an intentional plan to enter Bollywood. “Liger” is just something that happened. Speaking about his co-star Ananya Panday, he added, “Ananya is adorable! She works hard and does a great job. He’s a fun co-star.
Asked about the difference between working in a Southern and Hindi film, Vijay Deverakonda replied: “My director, Puri Jagannadh is from Hyderabad, my cameraman Vishnu Sharma is a Malayali and Ananya is from Bollywood, while one of my producers is from Hyderabad. and one is from Bombay – so it’s a good mix. We just work as we know it. I wouldn’t claim to know how the Bollywood industry works; I think I’m still working through the Telugu film industry.
The actor, who recently became a brand ambassador for a hip-hop festival, said, “Everyone loves music, dancing. I love hip-hop. I didn’t have access to music when I was in a hostel as it was not allowed but once I got to Hyderabad I was introduced to a lot of hip-hop music. I know the songs, sing at the same time and c ‘is important “.
