Mani Ratnam’s “Yuva” turned 17 on Saturday May 22, and Vivek Oberoi, who was part of the film’s multi-star cast, grew nostalgic. The actor has traveled the paths of memory and returned to his experience during the filming of the film in Calcutta.
“Seventeen years ago, in the land of mishti, on Calcutta’s most iconic bridge, I took the actor’s adage ‘break a leg’ a little too seriously! Haha! From air transport for emergency surgery in intensive care to a fabulous critical success! What a crazy trip! I watch the awards I’ve been lucky enough to earn for my role and the memories are pouring in! ” he said.
For the reverse, Vivek Oberoi encountered an accident while filming the climax of Yuva by Mani Ratan.
Besides Vivek Oberoi, the film also had Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, Esha Deol, Om Puri and Sonu Sood in its cast.
Speaking about his co-stars, Vivek recalled, “Ajay, Abhishek and I had so much fun on this shoot and even the legendary Mani Ratnam was part of our boys club! Brilliant performances from some of my favorite main ladies, Bebo and Rani, as well as my brother Sonu Sood.
“I feel so blessed to be a part of Yuva, thank you for all the love, the song lyrics say it all… Ae khuda hafiz, shukriya meherbani,” Vivek Oberoi concluded.
