With an alarming increase in Covid-19 cases across the country, film producers and production houses have become extremely careful to ensure the safety of the entire cast and crew of their respective projects. Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who can’t wait to start filming the latest program of his highly anticipated film ‘Sanak’ in Goa this month, has provided additional measurements on set.
Starring Vidyut Jammwal and first actress Rukmini Maitra, the film also features Neha Dhupia in a special performance with Chandan Roy Sanyal in a central role. The “Sanak” poster launched at the start of this year created a lot of buzz and generated tremendous expectation.
Speaking of the precautionary measures taken for the latest “Sanak” program, director Kanishk Verma informs: “We only have the Goa schedule left. There is a sudden increase in cases (covid-19) and the whole country is going through it. To be quite honest, we’ve been very strict from the start when it comes to disinfection and the precautions to be taken on the set. We never took it lightly, even when we started principal photography for the film in January. I think we were lucky not to have a single case for three months and consecutive shoots because we were pretty strict with the security measures and responsible. We made sure everyone on set followed social distancing protocol. Only the people absolutely necessary for the shooting were present on the set. At one point, we didn’t have more than 10 to 15 people in the firing range. Everyone was sent to the different rooms and corners and called when needed. While this affected the timing of the shoot, everyone was very responsible and played their roles well. Therefore, we were able to finish filming in three months without any injuries or cases of covid. In fact, all the equipment on the set, the cars and bikes of the performers and crew members were also sanitized as soon as they arrived on the set.
Producer Vipul Shah adds, “We had a specialized disinfection team working on the set. There was a team of 8 people whose main job was to make sure that the whole filming location and installation was properly disinfected, everyone goes through the disinfection tunnel every 15-20 minutes, everyone received a disinfectant to clean his hands, the temperatures were checked regularly, surprise checks were also carried out. We also created different color bands like green bands for those who can access the shooting area and red bands for those who can’t. Some additional unit bases were also created and disinfected so that people can break into smaller units and that’s how we worked.
Vipul brought successful films like the “Commando” franchise, “Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty”, “Singh is Kinng”, “Force” and many more. These films are still fresh in the minds of audiences even today where they have always produced content that ages well. With “Sanak”, we can expect another beautiful story in the making. You have to see what action-packed ace card is up for Vipul this time around.
Presented by Zee Studios in association with Sunshine Pictures, “Sanak” is a production of Vipul Amrutlal Shah, directed by Kanishk Verma.
