The Tribeca Festival has announced that Roku CEO Anthony Wood along with Walmart CEO Doug McMillon and Procter & Gamble CEO Marc Pritchard will run Tribeca X, a day-long event for marketers and the filmmakers on June 18.
The Tribeca X Award, which recognizes the best collaborations between brands and filmmakers in four categories, feature film, short film, episodic and immersive, will be presented during the festival.
“This summer, Tribeca X will be a hub for talented creators, entertainment and advertising industry leaders to reconnect and share the power and importance of brand storytelling,” said Paula Weinstein, Director of Content for Tribeca Enterprises. “We are delighted to welcome such a wonderful roster of leaders as we celebrate New York’s grand reopening and bring community and fun to the five boroughs.”
P&G’s Prichard was headlining at the last Festival. Wood and McMillon are new to the event which includes panels, fireside chats and breakout sessions “examining the way forward for new technology, new stories and new ideas,” Tribeca said.
“Roku is a leader in creating experiences for advertisers and storytelling designed for TV streaming,” said Chris Bruss, director of Roku Brand Studio. “We’re excited to bring the industry together in person at this critical time when the move to streaming TV can amplify the voices of creators and help brands speak with determination and creativity.”
The 20th Tribeca Festival – the first in-person festival in North America – runs June 9-20.
