Tony Revolori in talks for ‘Willow’ series on Disney + – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Spider Man Tony Revolori of the franchise is in negotiations for a starring role opposite Ellie Bamber, Cailee Spaeny and Erin Kellyman in Willow, The upcoming Disney + and Lucasfilm TV series follows the 1988 fantasy film, with movie star Warwick Davis reprising his title role, I learned. The new incarnation of willow comes from Jonathan Kasdan, who wrote the pilot and serves as co-showrunner alongside Wendy Mericle; original film director Ron Howard and writer Bob Dolman; as well as Lucasfilm, which produced the film. Representatives for Disney + and Lucasfilm declined to comment.

The series, which marks Lucasfilm’s first adventure in the non-Star wars storytelling since 2015, will take place years after the events of the film. He introduces all-new characters to the enchanted realm of fairy queens and two-headed Eborsisk monsters, and once again welcomes his hero Willow Ufgood (Davis).

No further details on the series’ script have been released. According to casting information released for the series, it revolves around a group on a mission to save a kidnapped prince. Team members include Dove (Bamber), an unpretentious housekeeper whose backstory resembles that of Willow from the movie. Proved that she is “the chosen one”, she is accompanied on the journey by Kit (Spaeny), the princess whose twin brother has been kidnapped. Kellyman plays Jade, a servant who is Kit’s best friend and moral compass. A guy, called Boorman, is also part of the group, which echoes the character of Val Kilmer in the film. It’s not entirely clear if Revolori portrays this character, a thief and liar who joins the quest in exchange for his release from prison.

The executive producers of the series are Kathleen Kennedy and Michelle Rejwan of Kasdan, Mericle, Howard and Lucasfilm. Dolman is a consulting producer. Roopesh Parekh and Hannah Friedman are co-executive producers; Julia Cooperman is a producer.

willow is scheduled to shoot in Wales, where much of the original film was filmed.

Revolori is known for playing Flash in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Away From Home and the third upcoming film in the current incarnation of the Marvel franchise. He also had a memorable touring role in Wes Anderson. The Grand Budapest Hotel and will soon be seen in Anderson’s next film, The French dispatch. His TV series credits include Royalty fee and Servant. Revolori is replaced by WME and Circle of Confusion.
