Actor Avinash Tiwary balanced theatrical and OTT releases before the lockdown gave the digital way of watching content a boost.

While his films like “Tu Hai Mera Sunday” and “Laila Majnu” hit the big screen, “Bulbbul” and “Ghost Stories” are releasing on OTT. Speaking of the present day, when Covid business is on the rise again and impacting the box office, he believes the inclination towards digital ventures is only natural.

Avinash Tiwary’s upcoming project “Dongri To Dubai” is based on author Hussain Zaidi’s book of the same name, and will be released on an OTT platform as a series.

“From now on, when there is uncertainty in the industry, digital is the only way to go. I do more stuff on OTT but that said, I also watch projects that bring me back to the cinema. I’m doing “Dongri To Dubai,” which is Amazon’s biggest project to my knowledge, ”Avinash Tiwary told IANS.

Speaking about how the publishing platform affects his acting profession, Avinash says, “It doesn’t change anything for me. Finally, I make a story that is told by the director. My job is basically to create this character with which my director wants to tell the story. I don’t think there is anything different. Each story has a different process, each actor also finds a different process. While it varies, it doesn’t matter if it’s an OTT platform or whatever. “

Avinash Tiwary, who was recently seen playing the role of Shekhar Kapoor in the movie “The Girl on the Train”, made her mark with her 2018 film “Laila Majnu”, directed by Imtiaz Ali’s brother Sajid Khan . The film, however, did not ring the cash registers.

Does he feel the film deserves more reach? “How I would feel for every job I did,” says Avinash, who adds, “The film was gone on the third day. He was there for a week but I think on the third day he was taken from the big theaters. From there, if we talk about it again, it means the film made an impact. Fortunately, I’m getting more messages for the movie now than I was getting back then. Imtiaz Monsieur once told me that a film is for life, so if it is worth it, it will continue to find its audience, ”shares the actor.
