Maya Rudolph took a walk down memory lane closing Saturday Night Live – with the help of some friends.
Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig and Rachel Dratch returned alongside current longtime actor Keenan Thompson for a sketch that drew on the past.
Rudolph ran into Gloria Zelwig, played by Fey, at the studio’s new bar. “I was one of the first to come up with the idea that maybe women could talk,” said Zelwig de Fey. “It was a pretty wild time,” Rudolph replied. “Do people still have sex during the HR meeting?” Asked Fey, who said his character died of permanent cancer.
The Maya-ing, a riff on Stanley Kubrick’s The shiny, saw Rudolph and his old friends as ghosts. “When you come back to host, you shine,” said Thompson.
Kristen Wiig played the creepy twins, while Rachel Dratch sat in the tub as her water ran in her apartment.
“Every time I come back to SNL, I never want to leave,” Rudolph recalls.
