The story seems to cut her knees every few miles now and throw away the old limbs so no one can remember how she walked. Everything moves at the speed of thought, which means we are encouraged to forget last Tuesday in favor of the truly mind-boggling turn of events that awaits us today. I say this because events have happened, precedents have been set, in recent years, and I don’t want it to be lost that this country has so much work to do.
Here’s my reminder, from a movie made in the year I was born, which is incredibly relevant today. It’s good to feel good that we are in a better place than a few months ago. But never become complacent. It is in darkness, without spirit, that the plague grows.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and thank you like never before for watching.
