Addison Rae, a TikTok influencer, was on Tonight’s show last month I taught Jimmy Fallon how to dance.
However, the segment got slightly mired in controversy as it emerged that many of the dances performed by Rae were created by young influencers, many of whom are black.
Fallon touched on the situation on tonight’s show, which you can see below. He said, “We recognize that the creators of these dances deserve to have their own projector.”
Creators Fallon spoke to on the show include Mya Johnson and Chris Cotter, whose Cardi B’s Up-based video has gone viral.
Rae, herself, previously admitted that she didn’t create the dances – which is common in the world of TikTok, but said on her social media pages she credits the creators. That wasn’t necessarily possible on the NBC late-night show.
Rae, who has nearly 80 million subscribers on the social media site, is set to make her acting debut in She’s All That reboot It’s All That, which was recently picked up by Netflix.
