The ConceptD Creator notebooks are equipped with 11th generation Intel Core H processors, NVIDIA RTX GPUs and 16-inch displays.
Acer announced several new computers today, including the Aspire Vero, a notebook made from recycled post-consumer plastic, the Predator Triton and Helios series of gaming notebooks, the lightweight TravelMate Spin P6, four new Acer Chromebooks with a 17-inch model (Acer Chromebook 317), the Swift X laptop with an NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti GPU. There are also SpatialLabsthat provides a 3D stereoscopy Experience so that content can float in front of the screen without the need for special glasses. It’s a similar concept to Sony’s Spatial Reality Display.
What caught our eye, however, are the new ConceptD Creator notebooks. We have an earlier generation of ConceptD 7 Laptop, and it was one of our most popular Mac alternatives available. The machine is fast and able to cut Canon EOS R5 8K footage with no proxies. Acer has built what we love about the ConceptD lineup into the latest Intel processors and NVIDIA GPUs.
The ConceptD line is available in three versions: ConceptD 3, ConceptD 5 and ConceptD 7, which is their flagship. Everyone can be configured to taste.
Let’s take a look.
ConceptD 7 Ezel series
The ConceptD 7 Ezel (CC715-72G) has been updated with the 11th Generation Intel Core ™ i7-11800H processor and is configurable with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 laptop GPU. If you need a little more power, the ConceptD 7 Ezel Pro can be configured with an Intel Xeon W-11955M processor and NVIDIA RTX ™ A5000 or A3000 laptop GPUs.
Both can be paired with PCIe SSDs up to 2TB and up to 32GB DDR4 memory, giving you great speed when processing large video files. In addition, Acer has added two Thunderbolt 4 ports that provide 40 Gbps bidirectional bandwidth, allowing you to connect up to five Thunderbolt devices to one port.
For the screen, you get a 15.6-inch 4K Pantone validated touchscreen that covers 100% of the Adobe RGB color gamut. There’s a new, super-responsive Corning Gorilla Glass touchpad that makes navigation smooth and hassle-free. Use a Wacom EMR pen for sketching, animating, or 3D modeling.
The ConceptD 7 series will be available this fall for around $ 2,499.
ConceptD 5 series
The all-metal ConceptD 5 notebooks (CN516-72G) from Acer were developed for 2D and 3D design workflows and combine the new processors of the 11th generation of the Intel Core ™ H series with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX ™ 3060- GPUs. Similar to the ConceptD 7 models, the ConceptD 5 Pro (CN516-72P) offers more GPU performance and has either the NVIDIA RTX A5000 or NVIDIA RTX A3000 GPU.
For those who work with high definition video, we strongly recommend the RTX A5000 GPU. It is able to handle 8K videos.
In terms of storage, you’ll see up to 64GB of DDR4 3200Hz storage and 2TB PCIe Gen 4 M.2 SSDs in RAID 0.Acer’s Vortex Flow, a three-fan cooling layout (including a 5th generation AeroBlade 3D) Fan), cools the CPU and GPU when workflows require more.
It all adds up to a Pantone validated 16-inch 3K (3072 x 1920) display that supports 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and a Delta E <2 color accuracy rating. The slim bezel design offers an 87% screen-to-body ratio, while a 16:10 aspect ratio offers many advantages to professional developers.
The notebooks offer a wide range of connectivity options, including two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader (SD7.0) and much more. A quiet keyboard and noise-canceling touchpad remove another small distraction that could disrupt a user’s creative flow, and the 6-inch wide touchpad has a fingerprint reader for more convenient and secure logins.
If you are looking for an ideal balance between performance and price, the ConceptD 5 series is the way to go.
The ConceptD 5 will be available starting at $ 1,999 in August.
ConceptD 3 Series
ConceptD’s entry-level laptops have enough power for those working on smaller content creation projects. The ConceptD 3 series is available in four different models and can be configured with the Intel Core i7 processor with a capacity of 4.6 GHz and the NVIDIA T1200 GPU.
All ConceptD 3 form factors and sizes have been updated to include an 11th generation Intel Core H processor. Commercial and consumer models come with a variety of graphics options to suit a variety of workloads and specialties, including the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU. In addition, they all have a PCIe Gen 4 SSD and a Thunderbolt 4 port with an activated power supply for super-fast charging.
The ConceptD 3 series offers a 14-inch display in Full HD that has been validated by Pantone with 100% sRGB coverage.
Expect the ConceptD 3 series to arrive in North America starting around $ 1,599 in December.
