The Matrix is one of Hollywood’s most beloved film series. The last installment of the Keanu Reeves sci-fi movie series was released in 2003, but it’s still as entertaining as it was 18 years ago.
Around this time, The Matrix was released as a trilogy, but due to its cult status, the makers are now coming up with a new sequel. Matrix 4 has been in the news for some time now. Filming for the film took place in Berlin and Germany and this time Indian actress Priyanka Chopra also joined the cast.
During this time, the title of the film has been kept secret. But not anymore. If recent reports are to be believed, the upcoming biggie has been titled The Matrix Resurrections. Although it has not been officially released, it appears that a video shared by a hairdresser from the film made the reveal.
According to Yahoo, said hairdresser received a trench coat as a gift from the manufacturers. Although the video was deleted in no time, it was recorded by a YouTuber NeoMatrixology. A letter next to the mantle read: “… during these amazing times in the making of Matrix Resurrections. Wir lieben euch, Lana and James. Plus, there’s digital rain on the trench coat and it looks like resurrections have been written on it.
Earlier in November, The Matrix 4 actress Jessica Henwick revealed she was concerned the film would be canceled.
The filming of the film was blocked in March when there were barely 4 weeks of filming in Berlin. It resumed in August 2020. However, it came as a surprise when the release date was postponed to 2022. It is a year behind the film’s original release date. Therefore, Jessica is unsure of the future of the film.
In an interaction with WWD, when Jessica Henwick was asked about the set, she replied, “Oh, that’s definitely surreal.”
The actress further explained that she fears the film will be canceled due to the pandemic. The Matrix 4 actress added, “I think when that happens again it’s hard to argue. But it was pretty crazy. It’s a whirlwind, but I’m so grateful to be working under these circumstances and so grateful that we were able to come back to the movie because it was a great fear that when the lockdown happened we might just stop completely. So, yes, I feel very lucky right now.
