‘The Girls’ Named Best Picture – Complete List of Winners – Deadline

Pilar Palomero’s coming-of-age story Girls won top prizes, including best photo, at the 35th Goya Awards on Saturday. The annual awards ceremony in Spain, hosted by Antonio Banderas, also saw Palomero’s drama win New Director, Original Screenplay and Cinematography awards.

The 35th Goya Awards adopted a hybrid format due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and showcased talent present and received awards virtually or on location at a Teatro del Soho CaixaBank with no audience. Among the Hollywood names who presented the various awards of the event are Pedro Almódovar, Penélope Cruz, JA Bayona, Alejandro Amenábar and Paz Vega. The ceremony also included pre-recorded messages from a number of Hollywood names including Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Charlize Theron.
