The story behind an upcoming one Biography of the alleged inventor of Flamin ‘Hot Cheetos I just got a big twist before filming even started.
Produced by Eva Longoria, this is the story of Richard Montanez, a former janitor at Frito-Lay, who claims to have added Cheetos chili powder and successfully introduced the idea to his managing directors.
Per diversitywho brought the news of the film’s initial development “That initial idea, now commonly referred to as the godfather of multicultural marketing, would trigger a billion dollar mark and catapult him from janitor to elite corporate executive. ”
actor Jesse Garcia and Annie Gonzalez have been cast in May 2021.
Then it got weird.
For a new piece by the Los Angeles times, Montanez didn’t invent the Flamin ‘Hot Cheeto at all. The actual inventor is a woman named Lynne Greenfield, although Montanez began his career at Frito-Lay as a janitor and rose the ranks.
Richard Montañez has had a whole second career claiming he designed and deployed Flamin ‘Hot Cheetos while employed as a Frito-Lay factory worker. Eva Longoria is making a film about him. He earns up to $ 50,000 per talk. It’s big business.

Apparently, the movie’s producers were aware of Frito-Lay’s investigation and got on with the script they have anyway.
Such a scandal could be enough to prevent the film from being shot and distributed.
Both Frito-Lay and this producer are sorry, but the scandal itself could actually be a scandal much better plot for a movie. In the event that Montanez invented all of this and spent over 20 years capitalizing on a false claim, now suddenly we have that Broken glass of after-school snacks on our hands. The Catch Me If You Can of cheese balls. The Can you ever forgive me of spicy treats.
On the other hand, if he’s really the creator of Flamin ‘Hot Cheetos, and Frito-Lay is the one who makes false claims and some kind of bizarre cover-up story, then this movie got easy One big chip doesn’t want you to see. Montanez is still an inspirational figure worthy of a biography. It’s just a completely different kind of bio now.
