Someone rightly said, “There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise up.” If a woman decides to accomplish something in her life, nothing can stop her from doing it. Well, I’m not saying that just because I’m a woman myself, but it’s a fact. Preity Zinta is one of those very successful women who just spread her wings and fly so high that it’s hard for most of us to reach her.
Preity is often referred to as the dimpled beauty of Bollywood. But is that what she is? Let me tell you, she has more than a pretty smile. She really defines the expression “One Woman Army”.
I may not know how difficult it is for a family and especially a 13 year old child to cope with the loss of a parent. But Preity Zinta didn’t let her father’s passing mentally break her. We’ve all seen her finesse in comedy, and we’ve heard that she’s an entrepreneur. But it’s not always that we are talking about the businesswoman that she is.
Finally, here’s what Preity Zinta has to say to everyone. “The general lesson for everyone is that you have to have the will to do something and you have to work really hard. It doesn’t matter what you do; if you’re trying to do something different, you have to start from scratch, work hard, and move forward. There is no shortcut. You have to listen to your instincts. I always have great people around me, but I also listen to my instincts – and you have to be innovative.
Preity Zinta is a Bollywood superstar with a string of accolades and blockbuster films to her name. But as a co-owner of a large cricket team, and after a course at Harvard Business School, her transition from actress to businesswoman didn’t happen overnight. An English graduate who continued her studies in criminal psychology always said that she stumbled upon the theater by accident but was always interested in business.
Speaking of her IPL Kings XI Punjab team, she was the co-owner of the cricket team. It was her first successful business and she is the first Bollywood actress to own a full IPL team. Her IPL activity pushes her more into business and, because of this, she took a short course at Harvard Business School to further develop her business.
That wasn’t it, Preity Zinta owned the South African T20 Global League Stellenbosch Kings cricket team. She would be the only female owner of a team. The Kings XI Punjab co-owner overtook the IPL bailiwick and bought a local cricket eleven in the South African league for $ 30 million, signaling Indian dominance in the ownership of teams participating in the T-20 tournament. Apart from her, it’s only Shah Rukh Khan of the industry who already owns the Cape Town franchise, in the next league.
After exploring her business skills in the field of cricket, she decided to become a filmmaker. After all, she couldn’t stay away from the movies for long. She started her own production house PZNZ Media.
