Teradek enables NDI on its Cube 700 series encoders

Teradek joins the NDI ecosystem.

Developed by NewTek, NDI (Network Device Interface) is one of the most efficient protocols for local network video streaming. Live content can be easily moved with a user’s existing software, computing devices, and network while maintaining image quality, frame rate accuracy, and audio synchronization within the hardware or software.

Teradek has now implemented NDI in its Cube 700 encoder series, which also includes the Cube 705 and Cube 755as well as the Slice 756.

Now with one With the NDI license, cube owners can use NDI to more easily and efficiently send video over IP. Because NDI puts video feeds on a network, Cube users no longer have to rely on long HDMI or SDI cable runs. In addition, NDI will be built into vMix, TriCaster, and those using SRT. Cube owners can still use SRT for remote feeds to transport to TriCast and NDI for local feeds.

The Teradek NDI license uses the NDI | HX protocol that requires a single stream of 1920 × 1080 at 30 fps 8-20 Mbps dedicated bandwidth. Compare this to the full NDI stream, which requires at least 125Mbps of dedicated bandwidth for the same HD stream. NDI HX is suitable for WiFi, remote and large networks.

The Teradek NDI | The HX license costs $ 300. Please refer to Teradek support for more information page.
