Taiwan falls for ‘Man In Love’ as local photo distributed by Sony climbs in chart – Deadline

Man in love, a Taiwanese remake of the 2014 Korean romantic drama won hearts locally, $ 11.3M to Sunday, and remaining # 1 for three consecutive weeks, despite continued competition from Godzilla vs. Kong and Mortal combat. At Man in loveOn the first weekend, he grossed $ 1.1m, placing No.2, followed by strong half-weeks and a second session at No.1 with a 117% increase above the open. Marketing on Man in love in Taiwan was conducted with Calendar Studios. A theme song was released in mid-March by popular local group EggPlantEgg (with whom director Yin previously collaborated on the “Back Here Again” music video), gaining more than 6.2 million views on YouTube. Advertising events included the launch of the trailer and the launch of the music video in the presence of Hsu. A screening program targeted students while there were handkerchief gifts during paid sneaks to highlight the heartbreaking nature of the story and ticket promotions to encourage repeat viewing as well as Q&A with the actors and filmmakers.
