Actor Tahir Raj Bhasin says he was rejected about 250 times before being signed by Aditya Chopra for the movie “Mardaani”.
“Everything worthwhile takes time and that’s something I understood when I arrived in Mumbai. I was rejected from some 250 auditions over three years before ‘Mardaani’, but I used that as positive fuel and feedback, ”Tahir said.
Tahir Raj Bhasin added, “It meant that I needed to grow and the growth came from workshops and hours of practice.”
“The strength was in being touched and in the willingness to keep moving forward. The world today is all about that simple message. We have all been affected directly or indirectly by an unforeseen period and courage is in making us better, fitter and stronger for the test of times to come, ”he said. Despite the number of refusals, Tahir never gave up hope.
“To be honest, I never saw my first trip to Mumbai as a difficult phase. It was a phase of aspiration. I envisioned a dream and yearned to make it come true and it’s the hardships and the journey that make successes worth celebrating, ”he said.
Tahir will be seen in “Looop Lapeta” as the romantic protagonist opposite Taapsee Pannu, in “Bulbul Tarang” opposite Sonakshi Sinha and “Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein”, in which he was associated with Shweta Tripathi.
He will also be seen in Kabir Khan’s “83”, which places him in the role of legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar. The film tells the story of India’s first Cricket World Cup victory in 1983 and makes Ranveer Singh captain of the underdog team, Kapil Dev.
