Actor Suniel Shetty has been in the film industry for three decades now and has worked in different film industries across India. He recently said his problem was not with typing, but with playing it safe.
Suniel Shetty made her screen debut with the Hindi film Balwan in 1992 and was soon called an action hero. He made his mark as an action hero with films like Mohra, Border, Sapoot among others. He has also immersed himself in the genre of comedy with films like Hera Pheri, Awaara Paagal Deewana and also the role of the old villain as in Main Hoon Na.
Suniel thinks his biggest problem is playing it safe. He said it’s not the subject that affects him as much as the banners you choose to go with like “I’ll only work with XYZ”, “who’s the director?”. He said it shows that you don’t have your own judgment.
The 59-year-old actor believes that the new generation of actors must create an individual style. He said that according to him, an actor who takes no risks is not an actor. He praised Tiger Shroff, Ayushmann Khurrana and Salman Khan for their creation and their own style. Shetty added that they made mistakes, but there were Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn who came out brilliantly.
Speaking of box office collections, Suniel said no one would risk a Rs 50 crore movie with him, but that they would risk a Rs 500 crore movie with Akshay Kumar. Shetty added that he made some mistakes but agreed as he believes the experience will be used by his son, Ahan, who is set to make his debut.
