Starz promoted Karen Bailey to Executive Vice President of Original Programming, following her former role as Senior Vice President.
In her expanded role, Bailey will continue to lead the network’s inclusion initiatives through the slate with a focus on stories by, about and for women and under-represented audiences. She will also continue to broaden the momentum towards adequate and authentic performance programming, overseeing new developments and current productions for the network, including Outlander, P-Valley and American gods as well as the upcoming series Dangerous Liaisons and Become Elizabeth. She will be based in the company’s Santa Monica office.
During her tenure as Executive Vice President, Bailey oversaw the production of series such as Party Down, Crash, Boss and the first international series of Starz, Spartacus and Camelot. Bailey first joined Starz in 2006 as an executive producer, overseeing development, production and post-production for the company’s film and mini-series studio. She was promoted to Vice President of Production in 2007 and Senior Vice President of Original Programming in 2012.
