The second wave of COVID-19 hit the state like a tsunami. The Maharashtra government has imposed new but flexible rules for the lockdown and as of 8 p.m. today the state will be imposed with Section 144 where a gathering of more than four people is prohibited. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray assured that essential services would function as usual, but other services were requested to be suspended including the shooting of many big budget films.

With films like Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan and Salman Khan Tiger 3 among many others like Prabhas and Kriti Sanon star Adipurush and Dongri in Dubai have been put on hold. While Yash Raj Films clarified that there was a hiatus scheduled for April 13-14, denying earlier rumors of a unit member testing positive, they informed that according to government standards they would resume the shooting after 15 days. Director Maneesh Sharma of Tiger 3 informed that the shooting has been completely stopped, including that of Salman Khan with the stuntmen.

Prabhas’ next magnum opus Adipurush will also have to wait for the lockout to be lifted to get things back to normal. As for Dongri in Dubai, manufacturers had already resorted to recreation of Dongri in Madh Island because it is a crowded area. The manager said they would shoot for the required portions once the lockdown is lifted.
