Sophie Okonedo, Billy Howle and Denis O’Hare join ‘Infinite Storm’ – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Sophie Okonedo, Oscar nominee (Rwanda Hotel), rising actor Billy Howle (Outlaw king), Tony Denis O’Hare winner (american horror story) and Southside With You breakout Parker Sawyers joined Naomi Watts in survival thriller Infinite storm.

Malgorzata Szumowska (Never snow again) is based on the true story of Pam Bales (Watts), a mother, nurse, and mountain guide, who was on a lonely hike up Mount Washington when she was caught in a snowstorm, leading to the daring rescue of d ‘a stranger (Howle) at nightfall and the storm.

Principal photography begins early next week in Europe. Bleecker Street recently pre-purchased the US rights while Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions handles the international film.

Naomi Watts signs with CAA

Written by Josh Rollins and based on the article by Ty Gagné High places: Footprints in snow lead to emotional rescue, the film is produced by Céline Rattray of Maven Screen Media, Trudie Styler and Jenny Halper with Naomi Watts for JamTart Productions, as well as Peter and Michael Sobiloff.

The executive producers are Nic Marshall, Josh Rollins, Malgorzata Szumowska, Jason De Beer, Andrew Karpen and Kent Sanderson. The project was introduced to Maven by Jenny Halper.

Szumowska Never snow again was recently selected as a Polish participant in the 2021 International Oscars.

Okonedo recently starred in Netflix Pawl and will appear on Amazon’s upcoming TV show soon The wheel of time and functionality Death on the Nile. Howle recently starred in the BBC and Netflix series The snake and the BBC MotherFatherSon opposite Richard Gere. During the pandemic it also started and coiled The beast must die opposite Jared Harris and Cush Jumbo.

Sawyers is currently wrapping up Guy Ritchie’s thriller Five eyes. O’Hare recently starred in Joss Whedon’s highly anticipated HBO series Nevers.

Maven producers have been proactive in bringing female roles and creatives to the fore in their films, which is confirmed in their upcoming projects as well as in Infinite storm. Currently in post-production are directed by Amy Koppelman A mouthful of air with Amanda Seyfried and Paul Giamatti, and Camille Griffin-directed Silent night with Keira Knightley, Lucy Punch, Lily Rose Depp and Matthew Goode.
