EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures Television has signed a first look deal with 88rising to develop scripted television series centered around Asian and Asian-American culture.
88rising is a US-based Asian music and media company, which started life as a record label in 2015. Since then, it has launched the Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival, launched a channel Asian-themed SiriusXM Radio and is developing feature film projects with actor Jon “Dumbfoundead” Park and dusk star Justin Chon.
Alex Lin, former director of comedy development for NBCUniversal, works as director of development on 88rising’s film and television efforts.
