Shots Fired During ABC’s ‘The Rookie’ Set, Police On Stage – Deadline

Shots fired at Los Angeles filming scene for ABC crime drama The recruit this afternoon, disruption of production and dispatch of units to the area.

LAPD media relations officer William Cooper told Deadline that a call arrived at 2:56 p.m. for a possible shooting at Hartford Avenue and West 5th Street.

The units of the Rempart division responded and are still on the scene. At 3:30 p.m., police reported that all of the suspects had left upon arrival. They still actively roam the region.

Williams had no information on the production affected or the number of shots fired, but Deadline confirmed that it was ABC’s drama series. The recruit with Nathan Fillion.

There are conflicting reports whether the incident happened on or near the show’s set. Eyewitnesses say they heard three shots hit the building above where crew members were working.

No one on the show was injured in the shooting. The recruit the team left the area after the incident. The series will be filmed at another location tonight as scheduled, sources said.

The recruit is currently filming its third season. The next episode airs this Sunday.
