Sharman Joshi has impeccable comedic timing, a fact that has been proven repeatedly on screen during his career spanning more than two decades, with roles in Xcuse Me, Rang De Basanti, the Golmaal series or 3 Idiots in between. other. However, Sharman surprises you when he says that it is drama as a genre, not comedy, that comes naturally to him as an actor.

“I think the drama comes naturally to me. It came easily to me when I started performing in college plays. I’m pretty comfortable with it and haven’t had to learn and understand much. Joshi said.

“It came naturally and instinctively as opposed to comedy. I was good at acting, but learning the finer aspects of the genre took a bit of work. With my theatrical experience, I have been lucky enough to work on the intricacies of comedy. When I say subtleties, it’s a matter of timing. Normally, if you miss a second, the comedy won’t be the same. Thanks to the theater, I was able to learn it, ”Sharman Joshi told IANS.

Sharman has been balancing film and theater simultaneously for years. However, he took a break from live theater production to focus on films. Something he’s not proud of.

“I did theater for 10 years and then there was a phase where I didn’t do theater for 10 years because I wanted to focus on my film career. Then once I feel comfortable I do theater again for the past three to four years, ”says Sharman Joshi.

What kept him away from the world of the stage? “I felt comfortable in my film career and didn’t need to devote so much time to the scene. The game is very meditative and I could only focus on one thing in life. Then I realized that I was ready to do live theater and also be in front of the camera. Once I had the confidence that I could handle both, I returned to the theater. When I got back to the theater, I realized I should have gone back a little earlier because I was missing so much fun, ”he says.

Sharman Joshi added: “The theater is my first love, I started from there. For any actor, even if they haven’t left the theater, this has to be the most exciting platform to perform on because you get the joy of instant gratification or not from the audience. The excitement of a thrilling live audience is something else.

Sharman will next be seen in the movie “Fauji Calling”.
