Shantanu Maheshwari’s recent encounter with Covid19 has been an uphill struggle for the actor, but the techniques he has used to strengthen this battle and successfully overcome it have proven to be major learning lessons for him.
Realizing the importance of not only being mentally strong during this difficult phase, but also focusing on the positives and the ups to get through the lows despite a slow recovery, was a challenge that Shantanu took on in his stride. “It was initially very hard for me because I was in this constant mode of comparison between the speed of recovery between the others and me because they had absolutely no problem to cope with their phase of covid, whereas I was having a hard time holding myself properly or even responding to messages which was quite frustrating! Finally, there was a point where acceptance is key here. Mentally accepting the situation and dealing with it calmly was very effective for me to make the recovery process smoother. It also made me realize that we all have different body structures, so the reactions of each of us would obviously be different from each other. From there, I focused my attention on the only positives and constantly reminded myself how lucky I was to have my family by my side and neither was I in an unhappy state to fight for a bed or a hospital. I started to obsess I saw my body in a much more observant way and noted the key areas I should be working on after my quara ntine. Once I got comfortable with these methods things started to improve a lot for me as I understood the importance of growing through what I was going through and focusing primarily on how to deal with my life. own situation rather than thinking about the progress of others, “Shantanu shares.
Shantanu also shares that watching his favorite movies and keeping in touch with his close friends and family who mainly supported him have proven to be stress free activities. “To keep my mind in a good space, I would watch a lot of movies and web shows. Depending on my mood at the time, I would choose anything from comedy to action to romantic comedy. or just something light to keep my energy intact. A lot of my loved ones always watched me and motivated me to keep my spirits up, which really cheered me up. I’m not a doctor, but all I want to say is that while I’m going through an illness like this, it’s important to find your own techniques to prioritize your health and not focus on the outside world, ”concludes Shantanu.
