Shah Rukh Khan approached for Ayodhya mediation by CJI SA Bobde: Bollywood News

The Ayodhya temple-mosque dispute has spanned decades, with the Supreme Court delivering a verdict in 2019 closing the case. Now it has been revealed that the outgoing Chief Justice SA Bobde wanted Shah Rukh Khan to arbitrate the Ayodhya temple-mosque dispute. Apparently, the superstar was also willing to step in, but it ultimately didn’t work out.

This information was revealed by Vikas Singh, president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, during his virtual tribute to Judge Bobde on his farewell day.

“Judge Bobde asked me if Shah Rukh Khan was willing to play a mediating role in the Ayodhya conflict. I spoke with SRK and he was happy to participate in the mediation, but unfortunately the mediation did not work, ”Singh said, listening to Judge Bobde.

The mediation panel set up by the Supreme Court consists of three members: trial judge IMF Kalifulla, spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar and senior lawyer Sriram Panchu. As the mediation committee failed to find a solution, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi decided that the case would be heard by the SC.

In 2019, the SC handed over the Ayodhya site for the construction of the Temple of Ram and ordered Muslims to be given alternative land for a mosque.
