Last month, Bollywood Hungama was the first to inform you that discussions between Karan Johar and Lyca Productions to produce films together had failed. Although the latter has expressed interest in entering Bollywood film production, it is unknown why the deal with Dharma does not go through. While Dharma has since continued to explore options with Jio, we hear that Lyca Productions has fumbled. In fact, according to the commercial buzz in the industry, Lyca has now defaulted on her payment to the makers of the Akshay Kumar star. Ram setu.
Revealing details of what exactly happened, a commercial source informed Bollywood Hungama: “Lyca Productions had to devote a certain amount to the total budget of Ram setu, however, funding for the film never arrived. A check for Rs. 30 crore issued to Akshay Kumar rebounded about 10 days back. Since this affects the production of the film, the directors of Ram setu are now looking for a new production partner to replace Lyca Productions. “
While the search for a new production partner for Ram setu Continuing, Akshay Kumar has denied the development of the Bollywood Hungama check rebound, saying it was misinformation. Sources close to Akshay Kumar claim Lyca Productions is still a part of Ram setu, and that no such monetary question arose in the first place. Likewise, Lyca’s Aashish Singh also denied the news claiming that nothing like this had happened and that they continued to be associated with the project.
However, despite the vehement denial, the news in commercial circles is that Lyca Productions will likely be replaced or have a very small stake in Ram setu now, while another producer will come on board to fund the project.
