Salman Khan gets a raise; be paid Rs 24 crore instead of Rs 20 crore per week?

Outside of controversy, if there’s one thing that continues to garner attention, it’s Salman Khan and his honoraria to host each season of Bigg Boss. Before the Bigg Boss 14 house could open its doors to competitors, it was reported that Salman would be paid Rs 20 crore per week. And now that Bigg Boss 14 has been granted a 5 week extension, Salman has received a raise. He would now draw Rs 24 crore per week. According to the Khabri, Salman’s contract with Colors TV ended on January 16, the original Bigg Boss 14 final date. But due to recent expulsions, entries and re-entries of challengers and expelled candidates, the makers have extended the season of 5 more weeks. And since Salman is already full of filming dates for his next films, he reportedly gave dates for just 4 weeks. The superstar will now receive Rs 24 crore for the 5 extended weeks. Earlier reports had suggested that Salman had gradually increased his fees after hosting each season of Bigg Boss 14. It was reported that Salman was charging Rs 2.5 crore per episode of Bigg Boss 4 to 6. He then allegedly doubled his fees to Rs 5 crore in season 7 which eventually rose to Rs 7-8 crore in Bigg Boss 9 and Rs Rs 12-14 crore in Bigg Boss season 12. During the last season, Salman reportedly drew Rs 403 crore for the about 26 episodes filming. An official statement on Salman’s fees from the creators of Bigg Boss is expected. Salman skipped this week’s Ka Vaar weekend episodes ahead of his previous engagements. While Saturday’s episode was moderated by Kamya Punjabi who connected the media with the contestants, Sidharth Shukla took over the animation duties for Sunday’s episode and was seen toasting the contestants. The weekend episode also reunited Sidharth Shukla with Rashami Desai. Tina Dutta, Raghav Juyal, and Harsh Limbachiya also added drama and entertainment to the show. While Sidharth will ask contestants Janta Ke Sawal, Rashami and Tina will join Harsh and Raghav in celebrating 12 years of their Uttaran show.
