Youth is wasted on young people. At least that vision of Russell Crowe.
The actor responded today to an online commentator who denigrated the 2003 epic Master and Commander: the other side of the world. The film starred Crowe as Jack Aubrey, captain of the Royal Navy.
The film grossed $ 212 million worldwide and was nominated for 10 Oscars at the 76th Academy Awards, winning in Best Cinematography and Best Sound Editing, but losing for Best Picture and Best Director at The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
Crowe called the commentator who recommended the film as a sleeping pill.

Peter Weirs’ film is brilliant. A demanding, detail-driven epic story of Empire loyalty and service no matter the cost.
Incredible Russell Boyd cinematography and a majestic soundtrack.
Definitely an adult movie. https://t.co/22yjNtQRbg
