Ruby Rose Responds to Batwoman’s Overhaul of Kate Kane Character – Deadline

On Sunday, Batwoman Showrunner Caroline Dries has confirmed that actress Wallis Day will join the cast as Kate Kane, reprising the role previously held by Ruby Rose. And now Rose has taken to Instagram to share that she is “overjoyed” for Day.

“I’m sorry I didn’t congratulate @wallisday yesterday,” Rose said on Instagram, responding to a photo tribute to her version of Kane. “I knew the cast in advance and didn’t know when it aired, so I forgot to do it.

“I see all the things I’m tagged in with sad people or wonder how I was feeling,” she added. “I feel good [sic] I only have good vibes.

In season 1, Rose led the cast of the CW series, exploring Kane’s decision to become Batwoman, in the absence of her vigilante cousin, Bruce Wayne (aka Batman). The redesign of her role was long overdue, following her release from the series at the end of Season 1. With Rose out of the series, Season 2 pivoted to focus on a new Batwoman, Ryan Wilder (played by Javicia Leslie), and it wasn’t until last night – in the penultimate episode of Season 2 – that Kane resurfaced, with a face full of bandages. Previously, the whereabouts of the vigilante was unknown, although it was noted that the character was missing, following a plane crash.

Also starring Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, Camrus Johnson and Dougray Scott, Batwoman has already been picked up for a third season. Day played the role of “Nyssa-Vex” in the drama Syfy Krypton.

For Rose’s part, there are at least four new projects coming up, all with: Magnus Martens’ SAS: Red Notice, George Gallo’s thriller Defeat, The drama of Gallo The legitimate sageguy and the comedy of Kyle Newman 1UP.
