The death of Sushant Singh Rajput rocked the country last year. An investigation into his death led other agencies like CBI, NCB and NIA to explore the respective angle. During NCB’s investigation, actresses like Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone were recorded.
Conversely, the three actresses were summoned at the end of last year and questioned by NCB for their alleged connection to drugs. They were toasted for hours and their statement was recorded. Now the latest report shares an update on this.
According to the PTI news agency, the recorded statements of Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone will form part of the indictment filed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drug case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The development comes a day after NCB filed a charge sheet in connection with the drug case and Rajput’s girlfriend and actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother were named among the defendants.
It was reported that the indictment sheet contained the names of 33 defendants and the statements of 200 witnesses. The charge sheet contains more than 12,000 pages in hard copy and 50,000 pages in digital format, which were submitted to the court by the drug detection agency.
Following this, lawyer Satish Maneshinde issued a statement regarding the charge sheet filed by the NCB. The statement reads: “The 12,000-page charge was expected. All NCB efforts were directed towards Rhea Chakraborty to force her in one way or another. The total amount of “narcotics” “recovered” against 33 defendants is nothing compared to what even a gendarme of the Mumbai police or the narcotics cell or airport customs or other agencies are recovering from. a raid or trap. “
The statement further read: “The whole of BCN from top to bottom was engaged in discovering the drug angle in Bollywood … There is hardly any evidence against any known faces that have been paraded for. the surveys, I wonder why? Either the claims were false or Only God knows the truth. The charge sheet is a wet squib based on evidence and inadmissible statements recorded under Article 67 of the NDPS Act, even after the Supreme Court judgment in the Toofan Singh judgment… Without Rhea Chakraborty n ‘has been charged, this case has no basis … The HC found no evidence at first glance at the bail stage of the alleged “financing” of the drug trade. We will have the last laugh.
