Rhea Chakraborty’s bail challenged in Supreme Court by NCB; case to be heard on March 18: Bollywood News

In October last year, actress Rhea Chakraborty was released on bail by the Bombay High Court after spending nearly two months in judicial detention. His bail has now been challenged in the Supreme Court by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The case will be heard on Thursday.

Rhea Chakraborty was taken into custody last year on drug-related charges for the death of her actor boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. She was released on bail on the condition that she post a bond of Rs 1 lakh and not leave the country without court permission.

Earlier this month, the BCN filed a 12,000-page indictment sheet in a special court in Mumbai. In the indictment, Rhea was charged with harboring drugs and allowing Sushant Singh Rajput to consume drugs in her home. This offense falls under section 27A of the NDPS Act which leads to a minimum of 10 years imprisonment with the maximum number of years being 20. Rhea Chakraborty, according to the indictment, was charged with possession of drugs like buds, marijuana and ganja. Along with the Chakraborty siblings, the director of Sushant’s house, Samuel Miranda, and cook Dipesh Sawant were accused of supplying drugs to Sushant Singh Rajput.

On the other hand, Rhea’s attorney, Satish Maneshinde, called the indictment sheet “wet spit”.

The High Court, while granting Rhea a bond, said that she “was not part of a chain of drug traffickers” and that she “had not passed on the drugs allegedly purchased by her to anyone. another to obtain monetary and other advantages ”.
