Ray Fisher tears up WarnerMedia to tweet about Derek Chauvin verdict – Deadline

On a day when many Hollywood locals voiced support for former cop Derek Chauvin’s guilty verdicts in the death of George Floyd, a response drew a sharp rebuke.

WarnerMedia tweeted the following:

While this verdict doesn’t bring back those we lost so badly, we do know it brings us one step closer to meaningful change. We reaffirm our commitment to be part of the solution using or platforms to advance racial equity and social justice.

The reprimand came from Ray Fisher, who starred in WarnerMedia’s Justice League repeatedly called the studio and director Joss Whedon, who replaced Zack Snyder on the film. Fisher claimed that Whedon had abused him. Fisher also tore up WarnerMedia on Tuesday for its social justice statement.

“How dare you @WarnerMedia?!?!?!” Fisher wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. “Oh, now I’m pissed off….”

It should be noted that Fisher’s note had 2,000 retweets in the first hour on Tuesday, and around the same time, Warners’ statement had 2,000 comments. Most of the comments on Warners’ post were critical of the studio and most had the hashtag “#IStandWithRayFisher” attached.

Fisher has been tearing the studio apart on social media since the summer of 2020 for what he called Whedon’s “rude and abusive” behavior on Justice League. WarnerMedia conducted an internal investigation late last year at Fisher’s urging and announced in December that “the investigation into the Justice League the film has been completed and corrective action has been taken. “

During part of his battle with WarnerMedia, Fisher was employed by the studio for covers on the Snyder Cup of Justice League. The current version of the film is four hours and two minutes long and greatly expands the character arc of Fisher’s Cyborg.
