Quentin Tarantino thinks Robert Rodriguez could spin off “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”

Imagine Quentin Tarantino giving you his blessing to play in his world.

Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez are close friends who have worked together in the past. Both had such a unique and special way to get to Hollywood. They were indie voices who stood out from the crowd and were able to tackle some of the coolest studio ideas while advancing their perspectives.

Even so, we haven’t seen the two of them work directly together since then Grindhouse: Proof of Death and Planet Terror. Could there be a team-up in the near future?

Well, during an interview on The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith Podcast, Tarantino got the idea that Rodriguez would be making a spin-off film about the Lancer Part of the movie. One in which Timothy Olyphant would repeat his role as James Stacy AKA Johnny Madrid Lancer. Although he wasn’t exactly aware that it was an episode or movie about Lancer, the character versus the actor, Tarantino seemed to love the idea of his friend expanding the film.

Listen to.

Tarantino said: “I actually imagine if I send Robert Rodriguez Once upon a time in Hollywood [the novelization], I think he’s going to read the book and say, ‘Well what’s up with Lancer? If you don’t want to do it, I will! ‘ I could see that this is a great Robert Rodriguez film. ”

While Rodriguez is working on his own western The book by Boba Fettit remains to be seen whether he wants to enter this world again. Especially after Tarantino left such an unmistakable mark. But it’s nice to know that there will be a way if he wants.

In the meantime, Tarantino could visit the world again to do this Bounty Act Episodes we saw teased at the beginning of the film.

He told Goldsmith on the podcast, “I’ve written about five or six episodes, and well, I’m going to do a few other things, but when I come back to that story a fourth time?” , that’s what I could do … It would be just like a 1958 or ’59 show, it would be black and white and half an hour long. It would be very much in the spirit of Wanted dead or alive, or Sagittarius, it would be done very well [much] like at this time. ”

We’ll see when these two writers find the time to do all of these things, but you can bet that we’ll keep you posted when it all comes down.

Let us know what you think in the comments.
