PlanetOut and Jungo TV launch LGBTQ + streaming service in India – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: PlanetOut, which owns Here TV and the multi-channel PlanetOut network on YouTube, partners with Jungo TV to launch a LgbtQ + streaming channel in India.

According to its owners, the free service will include LgbtQ + content from the PlanetOut library in addition to the original movies and series. The lineup includes an Oscar-winning film Gods and monsters, cooking show Food fetish, and documentaries such as Emmy nominees A long road to freedom: the lawyer turns 50, narrated by Laverne Cox.

PlanetOut is available on the video streaming and VOD platform MX Player, which is owned by Times Internet, the digital arm of one of India’s largest media conglomerates, the Times Group. PlanetOut is also broadcast on Jungo TV’s new free Jungo Plus app, which is available on iOS and Android devices.

Businesses are looking to take advantage of the cultural and political change in India.
