Pete Holmes named CBS comedy pilot Tom Smallwood lead – Deadline

Actor and comedian Pete Holmes has been selected to direct untitled CBS multi-camera comedy pilot Tom Smallwood from CBS Studios.

Written by Mark Gross, the draft is based on the life of professional bowler Tom Smallwood.

In it, after being laid off from the assembly line at the GM plant, a seemingly ordinary man, Tom (Holmes), makes the extraordinary decision to provide for his family by pursuing his dream of becoming a professional bowler. .

Holmes’ Tom is a full family man. He’s an iconic Midwestern husband and father who gets laid off after working his entire life in a car assembly line and decides to do something he never thought he would – take a chance – and aim for the moon. .

Holmes recently created, produced and presented the HBO comedy series Crashing, which lasted for three seasons. He also had a late night talk show on TBS and has been on the cover of three specials.
