Isabelle Kaif, who happens to be Katrina Kaif’s younger sister, recently made her Bollywood debut opposite Sooraj Pancholi in Time To Dance. Fans have waited a long time for his big Bollywood debut, but sadly the film was a box office dud. Recently, the debutante opened up about comparisons with her superstar sister.
It often happens that the children of Bollywood are compared to their successful parents or siblings, and Isabelle is no exception.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Isabelle Kaif explained how she landed the signing for Time To Dance and said, “I had auditioned for a few films, and this one passed. I was a dancer when I was a kid and dancing is, of course, a big part of Bollywood. It’s a passion for me. So, I thought it would be challenging and fun.
Speaking about her comparisons to her sister Katrina Kaif and the pressure around her first film, Isabelle said, “I know that. People have been doing this for years and I’m used to it now. It doesn’t really matter to me anymore. As far as expectations go, Covid actually took some of that pressure off my first movie, because the circumstances are so different. It allowed me to enjoy the moment as it unfolds.
Speaking of the best advice she received from her older sister, Isabelle Kaif said: “To focus only on my work, keep your head down. It also came from different people, from anyone who has been in the film industry. They give similar advice. My sister was certainly one of those people who gave me this. I’m just getting started now, there are so many types of movies I want to make. I would love to do a period movie or action. This is only the beginning, everything remains to be done.
Good luck, Isabelle!
