CBS News is launching a special show on Woody Allen that will feature an exclusive and never-before-seen interview with the filmmaker from last year, following the release of his memoir, as well as the CBS this morning interview with his daughter, Dylan Farrow, who accused him of sexual abuse.
Allen has denied the allegations, but brings them up in the interview with CBS News’s Lee Cowan. It was made in July, before HBO aired its documentary, Allen vs. Farrow.
The special will be presented by CBS Sunday morning and will debut on Sunday.
CBS News did not air the interview in July given other pressing reporting last summer, but they also wished they had more time to figure out how to create a more comprehensive package around it. Farrow sat down in 2018 with CBS This Morning in which she detailed her allegations against Allen and denied being coached to claim she had been abused. Allen has not been charged with a crime.
The special will also feature a report by Erin Moriarty on controversial artists and how they and their work are viewed when faced with allegations.
The producer of the special is Rand Morrison.
