Panasonic develops Leica DG 25-50mm F1.7 lens

A new Leica DG Vario-Summilux 25-50 mm F1.7 from Panasonic will be available for the G series.

Panasonic has confirmed that a new interchangeable lens will be added to the G-series cameras with the Leica DG Vario-Summilux 25-50mm F1.7.

This new zoom is currently under development and goes well with the Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25 mm F1.7 ASPH, which is currently available.

As with all G-series lenses, the new 25-50 mm zoom covers Micro Four Thirds sensors with the Panasonic G-mount. For a full frame sensor, the lens is equivalent to 50 to 100 mm. With both lenses you are covered from 20 to 100 mm, which is very good with a fast F1.7 between two zooms.

Although no details were given, you can expect a similar construction and element pairings within the Leica DG Vario-Summilux series.

As soon as No Film School finds out more we will update you with all the information.
