The 93rd Academy Awards took place on Sunday April 25 after much delay due to the pandemic. In the best categories, Chloé Zhao became the first woman of color to win the Best Director category for her film. Nomadland, Daniel Kaluuya won the award for Best Supporting Actor for Judas and the Dark Messiah. Youn Yuh Jung from Minari became the first Asian actress to win an Oscar since 1957, and the second in history – she won the award for best supporting actress. Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson, from Ma Rainey Black background, made history by becoming the first black woman to win the Oscar for best makeup and hairstyle.
Nomadland won the award for best picture, actress Frances McDormand won the award for best actress in a leading role for her performance in Nomadland and actor Anthony Hopkins won the award for best actor in a leading role for The father.
As it was a night to remember with many surprising victories, the awards ceremony was held in Hollywood keeping the COVID-19 protocols under control. The red carpet saw starry appearances with big moments and fashion style. We picked some of the best dressed stars of the night that caught our eye and there were plenty of them.
During the awards ceremony, the stunning Zendaya donned a bright yellow Valentino Haute Couture. It had a deep cutout at the waist and the dramatic drape making it look like a two-piece. She went with an oxidized neck piece to add an accessory while keeping her hair in soft curls and glamorous eyes for the red carpet.
Lakeith Stanfield, nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Judas and the black Messiah, makes a chic choice and easily one of the best dressed stars. The actor donned a Saint Laurent costume piece personalized by Anthony Vaccarello from YSL summer ’21. He paired the piece with a basic white shirt and belt.
Nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Ma Rainey’s black background, Viola Davis wore a bespoke technical white thistle-embroidered appliquéd dress with a plunging neckline draped in a circular gathered chiffon skirt. She accessorized her look with just a diamond bracelet. She kept her makeup subtle and her hair open.
Nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Promising young woman, actress Carey Mulligan wowed us in a Valentino gold glitter bandeau top, which she adorned with a matching skirt. She accessorized a Haute Joaillerie ring and earrings set with intense orange-yellow oval-shaped tourmalines. The actress finished off her look with nude makeup and hair pulled back into a messy bun. She posed alongside her husband Marcus Mumford who complimented her perfectly by wearing an all-black costume piece.
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Next movie Borat, the beauty went all glamorous in the white Louis Vuitton dress with a deep V neckline with bead embroidery. The actress paired her outfit with Louis Vuitton shoes and accessorized the look with a diamond choker, keeping the look she went bold with with her soft lips and eyes.
The actress killed the red carpet in the Giorgio Armani Prive strapless dress with a deep neckline and a ruffle design all over. She went with diamond jewelry from Forevermark, including a diamond ring, earrings, and a set of bracelets.
The night’s Oscar winner, SHE gave us major fashion goals in a custom Dundas embellished hooded cape, trimmed with lyrical embellishments on a matching halter neck and matching flared leg jumpsuit.
Oscar-nominated Vanessa Kirby made an enchanting appearance wearing a Gucci silk strapless dress personalized with a dramatic box-pleat train. She accessorized it with a clutch bag and pearl choker from Cartier jewelry.
Actress Halle Berry wore a custom magenta LaQuan Smith dress with an oversized bow and plunging neckline, the dress had a flowy fabric. The actress went cropped with her hair with baby bangs and a slanted bob. The actress posed alongside her beau Van Hunt.
Oscar winner Regina King also made a statement in a bespoke duchess satin Louis Vuitton gown embroidered with sequins and silver crystals. The star opted for a pair of diamond earrings and a bracelet from Forevermark Jewelry. It looked like a complete vision.
Margot Robbie was seen donning a Chanel maxi dress. She accentuated her look with a black clutch and kept her makeup subtle with the hair tied back in a ponytail.
Olivia Cooke couldn’t make it to the Oscars but was very present, fully dressed from London. She looked like a dream in a sparkling pink Versace dress. Her sultry dress was completely covered in diagonal crystal embroidery with a fringe effect. She kept her makeup soft, which complemented her look, her movie the Metal sound was nominated for best film.

Leslie Odam Jr. has gone for all the gold from head to toe. He donned a gold double-breasted Brioni tuxedo with a matching shirt with sartorial art. He paired the look with Cartier’s gold look as he posed with his wife Nicolette Robinson. The actor was nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Song for One night in Miami.

Minari Star Alan S. Kim was the star of the night. Since uploading photos with his dog Cream, everyone has been waiting for him to hit the red carpet. And he stole the show. The 9-year-old star wore a custom black Thom Browne tuxedo jacket with classic suspender shorts,
Steven Yeun, who became the first Asian-American actor to be nominated for Best Actor in Leading Role at the Oscars, represented the Minari team. He was seen in a personalized Gucci three-piece suit featuring a covered toe placket evening shirt with a bib, silk bow tie and leather laces with a double G.
Oscar winner for Judas and the Black Messiah Daniel Kaluuya took style to another level in the Bottega Veneta custom three-piece suit. The actor paired the look with a pearl choker and ring.
Nominated for Best Actor in the Leading Role and Star of the Year, Riz Ahmed walked the Oscars red carpet wearing a Prada three-piece suit which he accessorized with a Girard Perregaux watch. He stole many hearts on Sunday night as he posed alongside his wife, author Fatima Farheen Mirza, and even fixed her hair before the paparazzi took the photos. Clearly one of the highlights of the night.
