“Only arrive five stars in the country, let’s not joke about thinking (we are) in this position”

Actress Sayani Gupta believes the concept of celebrity worship can only be spread in India, and she claims it’s weird that the actors here are talking about movie business.

“I don’t think that as an actor you should be thinking about anything… Your job is to think about none of that. Your job is to do your job well and we are not people who do it for an ulterior motive. The box office is not under your control, and I hate when actors talk about numbers and say their movies have made 100 crore. How important does it matter? Sayani told IANS.

“It’s weird and it’s only in our country that actors talk about the business a movie has done,” said Sayani Gupta.

Sayani Gupta says that as an actor his job is to do his job well and to do it well, and “to portray the character in the best possible way, becoming the medium of vision for my director and writer.”

She emphasizes that in cinema, the actor is the smallest part.

“In our country, we make them big. It’s all star worship, but honestly I’m just as important as the DoP (director of photography) of the movie. Half of the acting takes place on the editing table. Cinema is not only an actor’s medium, but also a director’s medium, ”said Sayani.

Sayani Gupta added, “The business needs to be seen by the producers, let them care. If he’s a huge star, then those responsibilities are probably different.

What about the actors blamed for the failure of a movie? “I don’t think the actors are to blame. It only happens to the stars – only five stars in the country, probably. So, let’s not kid ourselves by thinking (we are) in this position. We are not those people. And it took 40 years for the stars to get to where they are. But as an actor I feel safe because we have to do our job and go, ”she said.

Participation in a film is not under the control of an actor, she insists. “(It’s) not even under the control of the manufacturers. I am always nervous when I start working on a character and I am extremely critical of the work I do, and my only thing is if I did a good job or not and luckily I haven’t had a bad review recently. Said Sayani Gupta, who was seen in the Netflix movie “Pagglait.”
