Nick Cannon returns to radio concert on Power 106 in Los Angeles – Deadline

Controversial Nick Cannon continues his comeback, returning to the morning entertainment on KPWR radio station, better known as Power 106, a Meruelo Media outlet in Los Angeles.

The Top 40 / Rhythm station dismissed Cannon in July 2020 after making anti-Semitic comments on a podcast. He will also continue on the syndicated Skyview Networks show. Nick Cannon’s Radio.

Cannon stepped into hot water last summer when he commented on the podcast Gun class resurfaced. His guest on the June 30, 2020 show was Richard Griffin, aka Professor Griff, who is known for his own history of controversial remarks, which once led to his being ditched by rap group Public Enemy.

During their conversation, Cannon said it was a shame Louis Farrakhan, the Minister of the Nation of Islam, was silenced on Facebook. Cannon claimed this was an example of Jewish power turning this community into the Illuminati, the Zionists, the Rothschilds.

The resulting firestorm saw Cannon start from numerous television and radio gigs.

However, Cannon was able to extricate himself from the cancellations prompted by his comments, apologizing and engaging in an education session with Jewish leaders.

Cannon, 39, has appeared on TV shows The masked singer, All that, Wild ‘N Out, America has talent, and Lip Sync Combat Shorties. He also starred in films such as Drumline, love costs nothing and Bounce.

Cannon had also prepped for his eponymous subscribed daytime talk show Debmar-Mercury, which was slated for an arc in fall 2020 in 90% of the country before controversy also delayed that project. Cannon will now launch this fall.

Regarding today’s radio announcement, Cannon said, “I’m back and ready to wake up in the morning and bring some dawn cheer with original comedy and candid conversation! Hard times don’t last, but hard people do – and I’m grateful to my supporters, friends and loved ones who have guided me on this journey over the past few months. We grow together through challenges and lessons, but we emerge better on the other side. “

Meruelo Media President and CEO Otto Padron added his support. “Nick Cannon is an accomplished artist and more demanding of himself than with anyone else!
