The streamer noted this figure in its first quarter financial results.

In 2019, the company spent just over $ 15 billion and reportedly spent around $ 17 billion in 2020, analysts including Dan Salmon of BMO Capital Markets estimate it could spend as much as $ 26 billion. dollars by 2026.
It comes as the service has revealed scoring figures for a large number of originals.
Netflix is also starting to face competition in terms of content budgets, with Disney + looking to spend around $ 8 billion a year over the next few years and new challenges from Apple TV + and Amazon.
