EXCLUSIVE: Nelson Lee (Mulan, Stargirl) and Krista Allen (The final destination, Important mother) joined the cast of Five below.
They will appear in the high-concept sci-fi thriller, due to film this summer, opposite previously announced actor Steven Strait (The extent). Mike Le Han (Mrs. Peppercorn’s Magical Reading Room, Hellraiser: Origins) directed.
Although the plot of the film is being kept a secret, it has been described as “a new take on the meta-human genre of science fiction.” Written by Nick Brown, this will be the first in a franchise of low-budget, high-concept sci-fi films made by Le Han’s new team, RedOne Studios. Liam Finn (Two eyes, Midnight movie) and Le Han produce, and a sequel to Five below is already in development.
Perhaps best known for his turn as Dr Shiro Ito / Dragon King in The CW’s Stargirl, Lee’s other TV credits include Westworld, Wrong, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Claws and Sneaky Pete. On the cinema side, he appeared in the 2020 Disney + remake Mulan and more.
On the television side, Allen appeared in 9-1-1, Modern family, Important mother and more. Recently completed on the topic of pandemic After the masks, she has also appeared in films including The final destination and Anger managerst.
Lee is represented by TCA Mgmt and Bohemia Group, while Allen is replaced by Bohemia Group, Commercial Talent and lawyer Matthew Saver. Strait is with The Gersh Agency and Management 360.
