‘Mrs. Doubtfire Musical Announces Fall Return to Broadway – Deadline

As with other shows announced for fall reopening, show times may differ from the standard eight Broadway shows per week. All shows will comply with New York State, City and CDC Covid protocol guidelines, which could include masks, pre-temperature checks, social distancing, and contact tracing. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said last week that theaters would be allowed to open at 100% capacity if sites require proof of Covid vaccination or negative test results.

The creative team for Mrs. Doubtfire also includes choreographer Lorin Latarro; Music supervisor, arranger and orchestrator Ethan Popp; The scenographer David Korins; Costume designer Catherine Zuber; Lighting designer Philip S. Rosenberg; Sound designer Brian Ronan; Hair and wig designer David Brian Brown; and makeup artist Tommy Kurzman.

Prior to Broadway, the musical performed for a long time at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theater in 2019, breaking the venue’s box office record with ticket sales of over $ 4.7 million and attendance of over 75,000 people. at 42 performances.

As for the movie – which was directed by Chris Columbus and written by Randi Mayem Singer and Leslie Dixon from the novel by Anne Fine AKA Madame Doubtfire – the musical follows jobless actor and divorced father Daniel Hillard who creates the kind alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in an effort to stay close to her children.

Mrs. Doubtfire is presented by special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical. Although it is performed at the Stephen Sondheim Theater of the Roundabout Theater Company, it is not a Roundabout production.

So far, the list of Broadway productions that have announced fall returns includes The Phantom of the Opera, Six, Chicago and second floor Clyde. The list is expected to expand by more than a few productions this week.
